Why you should listen

Navied Mahdavian is a cartoonist and writer whose work has appeared in The New Yorker, Los Angeles Times, Wired, Reader's Digest and the cartoon collections Send Help! and The Rejection Collection. He is the author and illustrator of This Country: Searching for Home in (Very) Rural America, a graphic memoir about his sojourn to an off-the-grid cabin in Idaho. Before becoming a cartoonist, he taught fifth grade, which is where he learned most of his jokes.
