A banker and farmer, Berry Marttin is a board member of several nonprofit organizations including the Rainforest Alliance, which works to protect nature while improving the lives of farmers and forest communities; the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), which aims to improve the consumption of nutritious and safe foods for all; and the Hanns R. Neumann Foundation, which supports smallholder coffee families and youth in Germany. He is also a board member of Koppert B.V., a for-profit organization that specializes in sustainable solutions for crop protection and natural pollination. Previously, Marttin served on the executive board of the cooperative bank Rabobank. Over the course of his career at Rabobank, he gained extensive experience as an international banker in both wholesale and retail banking, working in various senior executive positions in The Netherlands, Australia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Curaçao and Brazil.
