Aditi Ranjan

Student at Dougherty Valley High School
Aditi Ranjan is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School. She is very passionate about computer science, and entrepreneurship. She also loves doing art, allowing her to express her creativity and ideas effectively. Through her talk, she hopes to be able to emphasize how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the world, in several industries, including healthcare and education. She also aims to reflect on AI ethics and its reliability as a crucial step towards ensuring that AI benefits society as a whole.

Aditi Subramanian

Aditi Subramanian is a junior at DVHS. She is a driven and sociable student with a passion for understanding people and the world around her. With an interest in business, she wants to go deeper into the marketing field. She enjoys subjects such as psychology, math, and chemistry and is overall interested in understanding humans and their behaviors. Aditi thrives in conversations and values meaningful connections. She aspires to make a positive impact by helping people better understand themselves, and how they react to change, which is what her talk is about.

Daniel Wu

Student at Dougherty Valley High School
Daniel is sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School and a passionate public speaker. As the Captain of the school’s Speech and Debate Public Forum Varsity team, he enjoys exploring foreign policy and domestic issues. He believes that youth education in policy is important for, regardless of the student, to prepare people in an increasingly polarized world. In his TEDx talk, Daniel explores a growing demographic issue in East Asia, focusing on South Korea, and its philosophical significance in 21st century economics. Outside of speaking, he enjoys reading and cooking for friends and family.

Inaaya Fahad

Inaaya, a Dougherty Valley High School junior, is a dedicated scholar with a profound interest in the human experience. She delves into the intricate connections between historical narratives and psychological frameworks, seeking to unravel the complexities of our contemporary world. This intellectual pursuit is exemplified in her TEDx presentation, which examines the alarming decline of empathy, tracing its origins and illuminating its societal impact.

Joanna Jiang

Student at Dougherty Valley High School
Joanna is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School. Aside from being a student, Joanna is an artist, a part-time musician, and a professional learner. She loves learning new things and is curious to delve deeper into the world around her and how our society works. Joanna loves history, science, and everything in between. She's passionate about social sciences, and wants to explore how art and media/culture is connected to our daily lives - from our academic achievements to the way we view the world. Outside of academics, Joanna likes staying active as part of Dougherty Valley's women's lacrosse team, and in her free time she enjoys playing guitar. In her TEDx speech, Joanna hopes to encourage listeners to challenge their thinking, to be open to change and rewire their perspectives on the world.

Sophiya Ni

Sophiya Ni is a ninth-grade student at Dougherty Valley High School. Outside of her classroom, she practices music, studies science, and travels the world. Her passion for music has led her to join the California Youth Symphony as a violinist. Inspired by her desire to save lives, she is pursuing studies in biology, artificial intelligence, and robotics, with the hope that combining these fields will lead to advanced technologies for life-saving purposes. Sophiya is also a member of the Dougherty Valley Robotics Development Team and the Dougherty Valley Science Olympiad. She looks forward to further exploring biology and technology through her involvement in these clubs!

Suhani Goyal

Suhani Goyal is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School and a changemaker in the making who can be found at the intersection between creativity, leadership, and a love for storytelling. As a nationally recognized writer and international public speaker, she aims to use the power of words to inspire and lead, having earned recognition on international stages like the World Scholar’s Cup and seen her work published in national anthologies. From leading initiatives in Model UN and TEDx to mentoring youth through Future Speakers, Suhani thrives on empowering others and sparking conversations that matter. With a deep interest in business, research, and social impact, she aspires to build ventures that amplify unheard voices and challenge the status quo. When not leading or learning, you’ll find her scribbling poetry into the margins of journals, hosting heated debates, or chasing inspiration wherever it hides.
