In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Mylija McGauran

Speaker
Mylija is currently a Year 10 at BSJ, whose passions include art, theatre, and music. She enjoys stepping out of her comfort zone and taking part in school productions, as well as performing in a band. Some school activities and extracurriculars she has participated in are World Scholar’s Cup, Gymnastics, Orchestra, and UKMT. Outside of school, some of her other hobbies include animation, playing instruments, reading, and writing poetry.

Preston Gondokusumo

I am a Year 12 IB student at the British School Jakarta, currently pursuing Higher Level studies in Biology, Sports Science, and Psychology. Alongside my academic endeavours, I am a dedicated student-athlete, having competed on the BSJ Varsity Volleyball and Basketball teams since 2022. Additionally, I founded Hoopz4Change, a sports initiative that donates proper footwear to children in NTT and introduces them to basketball through free coaching clinics.

Riyana Keswani

Riyana Keswani is currently a junior at the British School Jakarta with a passion for global engagement and self-understanding. She has fuelled her interest in public speaking and critical thinking through her involvement in journalism, academic writing, and Model United Nations, all of which continue to influence her passion in broadening her perspectives and gaining a deeper understanding of the world around her. As a constant advocate for self-questioning with a desire to pursue law, she hopes that this talk sheds light on the overlooked aspects of human potential and its underlying relationships with societal dynamics and human emotions.

Zoe Sutedja

Zoe Sutedja is a 14-year-old student at the British School Jakarta. Ever since Year 2, he has been consistently pursuing numerous amount of roles ranging from the beloved, goofy Lord Farquaad to the compelling Demetrius of a Midsummer Night's Dream. Aside from just acting, he has taken the current backstage position of the head of lighting design and management for the upcoming performance of "A Monster Calls". He has a passion for the arts including theatre, film production, animation, music performance, graphic design and drawing. Zoe is also an active advocate for hosting his project "Future Green Leaders" in which he has taken time outside of school to teach and guide activities for children to learn about sustainability, including art projects which raised money for the Jakarta Animal Aid Network. He believes that it is imperative to nourish future generations with an open understanding mindset of the world, a belief that will be carried throughout his upcoming Ted Talk.
