The current world is polluted with a vast amount of issues -fires-, and in many cases, the smaller fires are persistent and significant around the world, are ignored or set aside. while all our attention and priority is set on larger fires, we forget about the little ones. However, little fires are everywhere and add up. Therefore, TedxWhite Oaks Secondary School presents this year’s theme Little Fires Everywhere to recognise and shed light to smaller issues before it’s too late!!

Hana Rabie

Student
I'm Hana Rabie, a 17-year-old Grade 12 student at White Oaks Secondary School. Over the years, I’ve developed a deep passion for writing, public speaking, research, and critical thinking. I’m committed to both personal and academic growth and take pride in communicating complex ideas clearly and effectively, whether through essays, reports, or creative writing. Beyond the classroom, I’m a dedicated humanitarian. I’ve organized student protests, delivered speeches on human rights issues, and created media, including my own documentary, to amplify silenced voices. As I continue to read, write, and speak out, I strive to make a meaningful impact and play my part in the fight for justice. Whether in law, journalism, or any field centered on advocacy, I’m eager to pursue opportunities that challenge and expand my skills.

Stephanie Cao

Student
As someone who’s spent years navigating the quiet weight of self-doubt, I’ve developed a deep interest in understanding how internal voices and external expectations shape our fears, choices, and identities. I’m drawn to the intersection between emotion, psychology, and communication, especially how our inner narratives can either trap us or set us free. I want to explore the emotional mechanics behind anxiety and self-perception, not just to explain them, but to challenge them. Because every time I step forward despite the whisper of doubt, I move closer to becoming the better version of myself.

Vidyuth Kripashankar

Student
As an aspiring mechanical engineer, I have a love for solving problems that influences everything I do. Every field I learn about, from sabermetrics to economics, is something I want to explore via the creation of something of my own in service of my research questions. And by finding the answers to my own questions, whether by myself or with others, I move closer to being the best I can be.
