At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dr Roshan Godaliyadda

Professor Roshan Godaliyadda is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Peradeniya. He earned his BSc Eng degree with First Class Honors from the University of Peradeniya in 2005 and went on to complete his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore in 2011. Currently serving as a professor, his research spans a wide range of cutting-edge areas, including Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, Signal and Image Processing, Computer Vision, Smart Grids, Biomedical Engineering, and the application of AI in Education and Social Sciences. A recipient of the Presidential Award for Scientific Publications in 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2020.His alignment with the principles of TED—fostering innovation and knowledge dissemination—reflects his commitment to advancing science and technology through collaboration and curiosity.
