Ella Overbeck

Student
Hi! My name is Ella Overbeck and I am a Junior at Booker T. Washington High School! I am a member of NHS and a co-captain of the Booker T. JV Volleyball Team. I'm so excited to be a part of Tedx! This speech debunks ADHD misconceptions, sharing personal experiences to highlight its impact. It explains causes, types, treatments, and the gender gap in diagnoses. The speaker urges awareness, support, and advocacy to help those with ADHD thrive.

Isha Aryal

Student
Hi! My name's Isha, and I'm a senior at Booker T. I'm involved in Speech and Debate, NHS, and Kripalaya Dance Academy. In my Ted Talk, I'll be discussing the negative consequences of FOMO in every day life, such as how it affects our behaviors, relationships, and consumption habits.

Lillian Charles

Student
Hi, I’m Lillian Charles, but most people call me Atlas. I’m a current Junior at Booker T Washington High school. I participate in National Honor Society, Speech and debate, Girl Scouts, and theatre. Outside of school I love to read and do creative writing. I also have a passion for language learning and can’t wait to talk about the issue of endangered indigenous languages in my speech. 42% of all spoken languages are considered endangered. Most of those are indigenous languages that have been threatened by colonization for decades. Language diversity is a beautiful thing. This speech dives into the state of indigenous language endangerment, the importance of keeping these languages alive, and what we can do to protect them.

Prisha Paudel

Student
Hi everyone! My name is Prisha Paudel, and I am a 9th grade student at Booker T. Washington High School. Inside school I am involved in activities such as Speech and Debate, Pre Med Society, Key Club, and Asian Culture Club. Outside of school I am a blackbelt in taekwondo, as well as a dancer and pianist. My hope is that my speech will inspire change in your life.

Trace Herrera

Student
Hi my name is Trace! I am a Junior at THE Booker T Washington High school. I like pizza, sandals, and long walks on Peoria. Im involved in NHS, Speech and Debate, and I have been on the stage performing since I was 7. Ill be shedding light on the rise of the "Just Kidding" defense when making offensive jokes, how people are sometimes rewarded from using it, and how it allows intolerance and hate to be normalized.

Trinity Cagle

Student
Hi, I'm Trinity Cagle and I'm a student from Booker T. Washington. I do many activities involving school and my community like soccer, HFC, student council, and volunteer work. In my free time, I like to read and write plus little hobbies such as crocheting and painting. But I would love to talk about things that have more of an impact on my and my peers' lives. In my speech, I want to share my experiences of bullying and how labeling affects society. My biggest inspiration for my talk is about one of my friends who sadly passed away due to the hardships of bullying during his life. I will talk about him and how single words that seem like nothing can alter a person's whole life. This is what I want to change, I want to talk about ways we can break those labels that restrict us from being us. So, I'm super excited to share lots more with you on April 3rd, 2025!
