In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Advait S. Funde is a high school student and youth leader passionate about law, finance, leadership, and service. He’s the captain of his school’s swim team, a TED Talk speaker, and the founder of a local non-profit chapter. Advait also interns as a financial associate and helps lead youth initiatives in his community.

Ishan Kanikaram

Student
Ishan N. Kanikaram is a high school student passionate about finance, leadership, and creating positive change. He enjoys using his voice to spark change and uplift others through meaningful action. Ishan is a TEDx speaker, an athlete, and currently interns as a financial associate. He also serves as the co-owner/vice president of a local non-profit chapter at his high school, which donates toys to children in need. Through all of his extracurriculars, Ishan's ultimate goal is to drive meaningful change and give back to his community in a way that makes a lasting impact.

Kaushik Setty

A man of today. A man of tomorrow. A man of his time. High school senior Kaushik Setty stands out not just from his character; it's from the time he puts into building his character. Kaushik Setty at Headstarter constructed 14+ machine learning and full-stack projects, including the development of LLM pipelines. Through his tech expertise, Kaushik mentors others about AI-ethics through his self-made school club, SDG Champions, with a count of 850+ hours. Speaking as much as he codes, he’s not just the orator of programming languages. During junior year, he has delivered presentations to 200+ students at the FIRE Pennsylvania Leadership Summit. The international Destination Imagination competition awarded his team with a 3rd place finish, which resulted in a broadcast appearance on Kansas state television news due to their globally innovative and niche approach. He plans to pursue his higher education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, majoring in Data Science.

Sophia Shahidzadeh

Sophia Shahidzadeh is a current 10th-grade student at Frisco High School. She is an avid member of the FHS Orchestra and the founder and president of her club, One For Humanity. In addition to serving on the Orchestra Leadership Council and aspiring to pursue music in the future, she is also studying with the goal of attending medical school. This summer, she will be gaining research experience through pre-med programs at both Northwestern University and Vanderbilt University. Sophia has a deep passion for both academics and the humanities, and she believes both are essential and must be nurtured. As a proud member, animator, and friend in the Bahá’í Faith, she is a strong advocate for the unity of humanity and the pursuit of knowledge and believes service even in its smallest forms are the most impactful actions.

Vitor Rangel Da Costa

Vitor is a driven student from Frisco, Texas, he is a software developer, e-commerce founder, and cybersecurity competitor. As Vice President of the Spanish National Honor Society, he leads high-impact service projects while also building full-stack applications—including a CAD-integrated platform that compares material prices from vendors—that bridge software and real-world design. He plans to pursue computer science and build solutions that matter.
