In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

AJ Ma

Student
AJ Ma is a 17-year-old senior from Southern California. He is no stranger to standing out and has learned to never fear the spotlight. AJ is passionate about theatre and the performing arts. He has loved theatre for as long as he can remember. Recently, he has played JD in Heathers and Grover in The Lightning Thief. He hopes to be the disabled representation that he didn't see growing up and make theatre a more open-minded and welcoming field.

Brooktawit Abate

Brooktawit Abate is a 17-year-old senior at Rancho Campana High School. She has always loved reading but has recently become curious about the nature of linguistics and how it plays a role in social relationships. In her free time, she enjoys ice skating recreationally and is frequently found with her nose in a book. Post graduation she hopes to study electrical engineering at a local four-year university and perhaps pursue a teaching career in the subject.

Colin Connaughton

Colin Connaughton, a high school Senior from Rancho Campana High School, speaks about the ongoing civil war in Myanmar. He has a strong passion for history and a great interest in events on the international stage. In particular, he has considerable compassion and concern for the well-being of people across the world as they are forced to deal with major world events. He hopes to impart this care onto others so that no atrocity goes unnoticed and unpunished. At the same time, he hopes to make everyone feel just a little more connected and aware of their fellow humans, no matter how far away they are.

Isa Baron

Student
Isa Baron is a 16-year-old high school senior from Southern California. She has always been intrigued by and passionate about the inequalities present between men and women. She hopes to educate on the causes and effects of these inequalities and bring awareness to the harm these inequalities inflict. She enjoys music, reading, cooking, and movies. She wants to pursue an education and career in Neuroscience in the future and hopes that her career will eventually lead to her being able to aid in research and new discoveries of the human brain.

Kayden Banks

Kayden is currently a Senior at Rancho Campana High School. He has had a passion for learning about religion since 2021. His curiosity about this subject throughout the years taught him not only about the facts of these religions but also about the people, sparking his motivation to advocate for religious equality. When he's not reading about theology, he enjoys playing music, acting, and baking. He plans to attend college after high school as a religious studies major.

Matty Perkins

Matty Perkins is a 16-year-old junior studying Film and Theater at Rancho Campana High School. Having experienced the detrimental effects of oversaturated drama and gossip firsthand, Matty aims to raise awareness and inspire positive change among peers. Aspiring to become a filmmaker and writer, Matty focuses on absurdism, relativism, satire, and irony in creative works. Outside of academics, Matty enjoys studying nature, spray painting murals, and performing comedy locally. Ultimately, Matty dreams of combining a passion for filmmaking with diverse interests to create impactful stories that challenge and entertain audiences while addressing important social issues.

Morgan Wilkinson

A Senior at Rancho Campana High School, Morgan Wilkinson is firmly passionate about the art of socialization. She works hard to create communities and bring people together in every setting possible and encourages other people to get out of their shells to do the same. Morgan loves spending time with family and friends, playing sports, hiking, and biking. She is hopeful that her social background will aid her dreams of owning and managing her own orthodontic practice in the future.

Noah Rai

Student
Noah Rai, a student at Adolfo Camarillo High School, has been involved in technology since his early life, from playing Minecraft for the first time on the first iPhone to creating his own video games. However, with the development and expansion of AI, he wants to take advantage of it and use it to help people around the world. Some hobbies he has is exploring nature and karaoke. In the future, he plans to study computer science and help the world.
