Africa Rising: A Prelude
Africa— the land of vibrant rhythms, and the keeper of ancient wisdom. This continent is replete with stories of resilience, creativity, and boundless potential.
Our theme draws inspiration from the Economist’s iconic articles , “Africa Rising.” and” Africa the Hopeful continent” where the narratives of hope, surging economies and growing middle-class was the talk of the international scene. More than a decade has gone by since those articles, how far have we come and what does the future hold? What is next for Africa?
The Threads of Culture
Africa’s culture is a symphony—a fusion of ancient traditions and modern expressions. Our theme celebrates this rhythm—the storytellers, the artists, the custodians of heritage. From Nollywood to Afrobeat, from kente cloth to contemporary dance, Africa’s heartbeat pulses through our veins.
Opportunities in adversity
Africa faces challenges—poverty, inequality, climate change—but within those cracks lie opportunities. Entrepreneurs are building solar-powered microgrids in rural villages. Innovators are using mobile technology to solve problems around payment and education.
We are not here to just talk about the challenges but to explore how innovators are shaping the narrative, breaking boundaries, and igniting change.

The Call to Action
“What Next Africa” isn’t just a question—it’s a call to action. We invite you to join this journey. Let’s explore transformative education, technology and entrepreneurship. Let’s rewrite Africa’s narrative, one TEDx talk at a time.
