Dhruv Sharma is a User Research Lead, and heads Scottish Government’s User Research Community. An Anthropologist and Design Ethnographer by trade, Dhruv has extensive experience of practicing user centered design in both public and private sectors as well as within academia. His user research experience spans 3 continents covering areas such as telecommunications, furniture and kitchen design, and transport. For his PhD, Dhruv looked at the role of digital technologies and radical innovation in reducing later-life loneliness.

Gen. V.K. Singh

Ex Chief of Indian Army
General Vijay Kumar Singh is a distinguished Indian Army officer and a prominent figure in Indian defense and diplomacy. Born on May 10, 1950, he was commissioned into the Indian Army in 1970 and rose through the ranks to become the 26th Chief of Army Staff, serving from March 2010 until his retirement in May 2012. A graduate of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy, General Singh has an extensive operational background, having served in various critical positions, including commanding a battalion in the Indian Peacekeeping Force in Sri Lanka and leading a strike corps during pivotal military exercises. His strategic insights and leadership during various military operations have earned him accolades and respect both nationally and internationally. After his retirement, General Singh transitioned into public service, becoming a member of the Indian Parliament and serving as the Minister of State for External Affairs.

Akshar Foundation operates a model school called Akshar Forum, and is currently executing a project to transform government-run schools into hi-tech sustainable communities by implementing Akshar’s NEP 2020 Model. As the co-founder of Akshar Foundation, Parmita oversaw the growth of this NGO from inception to achieving global recognition, lauded by the Prime Minister of India, United Nations, World Economic Forum, and Earth Day Network. Akshar’s model breaks vicious economic cycles by providing avenues for employment within the school itself. The students work in the school as tutors for younger kids, designing and printing worksheets, taking attendance, building furniture, growing food, recycling plastic, treating injuries, repairing electronics, among many other jobs. Based on Mahatma Gandhi’s Nai Talim education model, students in the school learn by doing.
