In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Arda Mehmet Yilmaz

Born in Germany in 2009 and raised in Turkey, Arda is a 14-year-old freshman at TED Bursa College. Despite his passion and decision of having a career in the field of finance in the future, he is highly interested on global issues and politics, too. His favourite hobbies are playing tennis and piano. He dreams that the world will be a better place one day.

Ayşe Kaya

Ayşe is currently a student at Şükrü Şankaya Anatolian High School. Outside of academics; she finds joy in a variety of hobbies such as reading books, engaging in theatre, and participating in sports like badminton, chess, and tae kwon do, albeit not at a professional level. Looking ahead, Ayşe aspires to pursue a degree in law.

Burçın Metuçin

Burçin Metuçin was born in Istanbul in 1980. She completed her undergraduate studies in mathematics at Yeditepe University on a scholarship and then completed her non-thesis master's degree at the same university. Since her university years, she has been interested in social Latin dances. As part of her passion, she practices salsa and bachata dancing.

Mustafa Aygün

Mustafa Aygün was born in Montenegro in 1963 and moved to Türkiye as a family in 1969. He completed his primary, secondary, high school and university education in Istanbul and graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Business Administration. In 1977, he started his Martial Arts training with Karate, and Judo training in 1979. He started learning Aikido in 1983 as one of the first students of Mr. Kumagai, a Japanese businessman working in Türkiye. After becoming a black belt in Aikido in 1989, he traveled to Japan where he received intensive Aikido training for several months. After returning from Japan, he started giving Aikido lessons regularly. He has introduced Aikido through numerous newspaper and television news stories. Mustafa Aygün is authorized by the headquarters of Aikido in Japan and approved by the International Aikido Federation and is currently at the Black Belt 7th Dan (level) in Aikido. He speaks Turkish, Serbian and intermediate English.

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Censev

Prof. Doc. Mehmet Cansev is a Professor of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine at Bursa Uludağ University. Dr. Cansev graduated as a medical doctor and received his doctorate in Pharmacology. He did his post-doctoral studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research work has focused on the role of nutritional approaches in neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Cansev was awarded the Best Young Scientist in Medicine by Turkish Pharmacological Society in 2008, by Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBA) in 2009 and by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) in 2014. Dr. Cansev is married and father to two.
