In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Některé proměny mohou zamíchat kartami. Záleží na tom, jak se k nim postavíme. Amálie Kosová přišla po letech léčby a operací kvůli vzácnému sarkomu o ruku. Navzdory těmto událostem zůstává pozitivní a jde za svými sny. Učí se žít s bionickou rukou a věnuje se modelingu, kde boří mýty a inspiruje ostatní. Po maturitě ještě nemá jasný plán, ale touží po zkušenosti v zahraničí, která by jí přinesla nové perspektivy a další příležitosti. Její příběh je dokladem toho, že i složité životní výzvy nám mohou dodat vnitřní sílu a odvahu měnit svět kolem nás.

Barbara Paldus

Scientist, investor, visionary, and entrepreneur

Barbara explores the idea that compromised skin must be treated through the gut barrier and microbiome, and that your mental health may significantly affect your skin condition. She holds over 50 patents, speaks five languages fluently, has a PhD from Stanford University, and has been a globetrotter for three decades. Her first company developed technologies for monitoring greenhouse gases to track climate change, while her second created equipment to accelerate and make affordable biotech cancer treatments, vaccines, and stem cell therapies. In this talk, she challenges the status quo of dermatology with plant-based biotechnology. Can this become the new tool that transforms conventional medicine into a holistic, whole-body approach? That’s something we’ll consider with Barbara as well.

Carmen's portfolio includes projects with artists such as Seal, Coldplay, Michael Jackson, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Pete Townshend of The Who. He has also collaborated with renowned producers like Trevor Horn, Rob Cavallo, David Foster and Don Was. After moving from Los Angeles to Prague, he now runs his own music label, Electrofone Music. Do you know the closing theme for the game Uncharted 2 on Sony PlayStation? That’s his work too.

Divadelní režisérka, herečka a spisovatelka

Daniela po absolutoriu oborů herectví a režie na Katedře činoherního divadla DAMU hostovala v mnoha pražských i regionálních divadlech. Nakrátko byla v angažmá v Divadle na Vinohradech, kde vznikla její nejslavnější inscenace Vojcek. Osm sezón působila jako umělecká šéfka Činohry ND. Během této doby se vyprofilovala i autorsky a inscenovala zde kromě klasiky také řadu vlastních dramatizací či textových koláží. Dosud má na svém kontě na sedmdesát inscenací nejrůznějších žánrů, za které posbírala řadu ocenění. Vrátila se zpět k herectví a píše knihu. V současné době prochází tranzicí a zasazuje se za práva trans osob.

Radka's journey from the village of Červený Hrádek to American success was filled with chance, risk, and hard work in developing her talent. Her path first led her to New York, where she founded her own studio, R/S Visual Thing. Working with one of the most prominent visual artists of the turn of the century, Matthew Barney, helped her establish herself in Los Angeles. Her unique masks caught the attention of well-known celebrity designer dealer Rodney Burn, and her costumes for experimental videos drew the attention of the organizers of LA Fashion Week. With her fashion show, she made it into the TOP 3 fashion designers selection. According to the renowned magazine Modern Painters, she is among the "25 artists to watch."

Robert Rosenberg

Podnikatel a sportovní kouč

Jméno Rosenberg si mnozí z nás automaticky spojí se světem pornoherectví. Dnes již bývalá ikona filmů pro dospělé byla jedním z nejvýraznějších představitelů tohoto odvětví v České republice i zahraničí. Robert se chtěl z úlohy herce posunout dál a mít kontrolu nad projekty, na kterých pracoval. Proto založil vlastní produkční společnost a časem se stal úspěšným podnikatelem. Jeho životní nastavení prošlo proměnou a po skončení kariéry ve filmovém průmyslu se začal věnovat sportu. Organizuje kurzy sebeobrany a trénuje box a fitness, mimo jiné i pro autisty a vozíčkáře. Otevřeně sdílí svou osobní i profesní cestu, a tím dodává svému okolí odvahu ke změnám.

Tomáš Jungwirth

What will be the principle behind the chips of the future in the automotive industry, AI applications, robotics, and more powerful computers? To give us a glimpse into a possible revolution in information technology, we hear from Tomáš Jungwirth, head of the Spintronics and Nanoelectronics Department at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences and a professor at the University of Nottingham in the UK. In addition to being a co-author of dozens of patents, he and his team confirmed the existence of the spin Hall effect, which has the potential for use in modern electronics.
