Theme: The Ciné

The book "Illusions" by Richard Bach has been rewritten as a memoir, where the teacher tells Bach about the illusions that humans create and immerse themselves in as part of life's reality. In a scene from the novel, they watch a movie together and conclude their discussion about the film as a metaphor for life:

"One can hold a reel of film in their hand," the teacher said, "The film has already reached a complete ending - the beginning, middle, and end all exist in the same second. The film exists outside the time it captures, and if you know what the film is, you will know what will happen. But to be captivated and immersed in that film, you have to put it into a projector and let each frame pass through the lens, minute by minute... Every image needs space and time to be experienced."

That film surely contains many different short and long scenes. Scenes from childhood, scenes from high school with budding romances, scenes of saying goodbye to friends to enter college, scenes from the student years, scenes of building a career, and episodes for family, love, and the twilight years... Every person we encounter brings their own meaning and takes us to a destination to understand ourselves better.

The message that the TEDx CTUMP program aims to spread is: Let's view our lives as a movie. To create a meaningful life film for ourselves, the decision to choose the plot, settings, and connections with those around us, along with the experiences in each moment, depends on each individual. That film needs to incorporate various elements: frames, filters, dialogues, characters...

With nearly 10,000 hours of continuous Medical Interpreting experience over the past 7 years, along with two professional certifications from leading industry boards in the United States (NBCMI & CCHI), and a certification in English-Vietnamese interpretation proficiency issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, Y Sa is actively practicing and advocating for standardized Medical Interpreting practices in the Vietnamese market through various healthcare projects she participates in. The ultimate goal is to establish Medical Interpreting as an official profession in Vietnam.
